What size should your weighted blanket be?
Cover the body rather than the bed: the right size for how you use it.
After the weight, size is the second choice to make. It follows a different logic from a regular duvet: a weighted blanket is chosen for the body of the person using it, not for the width of the mattress. Here is how to find the right size among our seven formats.
The principle: cover the body, not the bed
A weighted blanket should rest on you, from your shoulders to your feet, without hanging over the sides of the bed. If it overhangs a lot, part of the weight pulls toward the floor: the pressure on your body decreases, the blanket slides off during the night and becomes less pleasant. A blanket slightly narrower than the mattress is therefore normal, and even desirable.
In practice, keep two guidelines in mind:
- The width should cover your shoulders and hips when you lie down, without falling over each side of the bed.
- The length should reach from your shoulders to your feet. The taller you are, the more you will benefit from a longer size.

Kids sizes: 90 × 120, 100 × 150 and 110 × 170 cm
The Kids weighted blanket comes in three sizes. The 90 × 120 cm fits a toddler bed and covers a child up to about 120 cm tall; the 100 × 150 cm suits children up to about 145 cm; the 110 × 170 cm suits older children and teenagers. Important reminder: no weighted blanket under 3 years old or under 15 kg, and the weight is chosen according to the child’s body weight, not the size of the blanket. Our lightest weight (3 kg) suits a child of around 30 kg. Check the weight guide before ordering.
In-between sizes: 110 × 170 and 120 × 190 cm
110 × 170 cm is also the size of the Travel weighted blanket, designed for the sofa and for trips. It suits petite adults. The 120 × 190 cm size is exclusive to the Linen weighted blanket: a single size for an average build.
135 × 200 cm: the standard size for an adult
This is the most versatile size and the one we recommend to most adults. It covers a person of average height from shoulders to feet, on a bed 90 to 160 cm wide. All our adult models come in this size, except the Linen and the Travel.
150 × 220 cm: for taller builds
Choose 150 × 220 cm if you are taller than about 1.80 m, or if you like to feel well wrapped and move around without uncovering yourself. This size is still a blanket for one person: on a double bed, it is not enough for two sleepers. It is available in Cotton, Winter, Summer, Premium, Sensory and as a weighted duvet.
A 140, 160 or 180 cm bed: what should you choose?
- 140 cm bed (roughly a double), one person: 135 × 200 cm, or 150 × 220 cm if you are tall.
- 160 cm bed (roughly a queen), one person: a 135 × 200 cm is just right. It does not cover the full width of the mattress, and that is intentional.
- 160 or 180 cm bed (roughly a queen or king), two people: two options. Either one blanket each (for example two 135 × 200 cm blankets, each weighted for its user), or the two-person weighted blanket in 270 × 200 cm, with two independent 135 × 200 cm inserts joined by straps.
On a double bed, keep a regular duvet to cover the mattress if you like: the weighted blanket can go on top of it or underneath, depending on how warm you like to sleep.
Two people: why two weights?
A single large blanket with an even weight does not suit two people of different builds. The 270 × 200 cm solves this: each half is a 135 × 200 cm insert, weighted for the person sleeping under it. You can join the two halves or use them separately. See also our single weighted blanket and two-person weighted blanket selections.
What about the cover?
If you would like an extra cover, choose it in the same size as your blanket. Our weighted blanket cover comes in 90 × 120, 100 × 150, 110 × 170, 135 × 200 and 150 × 220 cm. It is not compatible with the all-in-one models (Sensory, Summer, Soft, Linen, Travel).
