Exactly who is 5 kg for?

Count about 10% of your body weight: between 50 and 59 kg, 5 kg is the benchmark. It is also a sensible starting point for someone sensitive to pressure who is hesitating with 6 kg, since between two weights you keep the lighter one. Weigh 55 kg or a little more and like light pressure? The 5.5 kg Linen, in 100% linen, offers an in-between step for spring and summer.

The Cotton combines a removable 100% cotton cover, washable at 40 °C, with an inner blanket attached by tie loops. The Summer is an all-in-one model in double-sided cotton, with glass microbeads in stitched pockets and no cover to deal with. The Soft pairs a plush side with a cotton side, in 135 × 200 cm only. For a teen weighing 50 to 59 kg, the Kids blanket is still an option, provided they can take it off on their own and an adult checks the weight.

The travel blanket

The Travel weighted blanket comes in 5 kg and 110 × 170 cm only. In double-sided velvet with no cover, it folds up easily: sofa, holiday home, stays with family and friends. Its shorter size makes it better suited to shorter people or to use while sitting; for sleeping every night in an adult bed, 135 × 200 cm remains more comfortable.

Which size, and which neighbouring weights?

  • 135 × 200 cm: the standard adult size, the most versatile.
  • 150 × 220 cm: if you are taller than about 1.80 m or like to be well covered (Cotton and Summer).
  • Under 50 kg: the 4 kg collection.
  • 60 kg and over: the 6 kg collection.
  • For winter, the 4.5 kg weighted duvet replaces your regular duvet, from 45 kg.

You have a 30-night trial to judge the feeling, and a weight exchange is always possible. Comfort product, not a medical device. If in doubt, or for a child, ask a healthcare professional for advice.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 5 kg weighted blanket too heavy for a first time?

Not if you weigh 50 to 59 kg: it is the recommended weight for this range. If you are very sensitive to pressure or right between two ranges, keep the lighter weight. Everyone feels it differently, which is why a weight exchange is possible.

What is the cheapest 5 kg weighted blanket?

The Travel, at $99.90, in 110 × 170 cm and double-sided velvet. For an adult bed, the Summer in 135 × 200 cm starts at $139.90 and the Cotton at $149.90.

Can the 5 kg Travel be used as a blanket at night?

Yes, it can be used in all seasons. However, its 110 × 170 cm size is better suited to petite people, the sofa or travelling. For an adult of average height in bed, a 135 × 200 cm blanket will cover the body better.

5 kg or the 5.5 kg Linen: how to choose?

The 5.5 kg Linen suits people around 55 kg or anyone who likes light pressure, with a fabric designed for warm nights, in 120 × 190 cm. Under 55 kg, or if you want a 135 × 200 cm size, stay with 5 kg.
